I'm back this week to teach you a song!!  Click on the link below to view the video!

I have a special guest with me to help me sing the song and to play some back up maracas!  If you have a percussion instrument, you might want to get it now before you watch the video.  If you made a shaky egg from one of your Easter eggs that would be a PERFECT instrument to play. Enjoy!

Week 6

Lets learn about the instruments of the Orchestra!  An Orchestra is a collection of lots of different instruments that play music together!  Click on the link below to take you to an interactive orchestra where you can read about and listen to the different sections of the orchestra, percussion, brass, woodwinds, and strings!  I have also provided an optional printable worksheet that you can color! Just follow the instructions on which color each section should be colors.

Week 5

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter! This week, I have a fun computer game you can play to make your own music! woohoo! Click the link below and follow the directions on the website.  Make as many songs as you would like and enjoy being little composers!

Week 4

This week is holy week and we are preparing for Easter!  This also means, I'm pretty sure you have some empty plastic Easter eggs lying around.  So this week, I'm sharing a great activity that creates your own shaky egg!!!! Just follow the steps below.

Step 1: Find an empty plastic easter egg

Step 2: Fill the egg with 1-2 teaspoons of dry rice or dry beans

Step 3: Close up the egg and tape it shut (This is an important step so the filling doesn't fall out)

Voila!  You now have a homemade instrument! Now just shake it to some music!

Week 3

Ok, it's week 3 of being at home and doing our very best at remotely learning and well....keeping sane.  So this week, everybody has the same music activity.  Including you parents!!! This week, I want all of you you take a take a well deserve dancing break! Get up out of your chairs, put down any books, clear your mind from any worries, and just. move. your. body!  Get the whole family involved and choose an upbeat song to dance to! It can be just that! but here are some fun extensions to keep the fun going.

1. Have each family member pick a song to make the dance party longer.

2. Dance with a tissue on your head and try not to let it fall off.  If it does, catch it before it touches the ground!

3. Make it a freeze dance

4. Make it a song with fast a slow sections and change your dancing style

5 dance like different animals

Check out my spotify playlist for some good music suggestions.  This playlist includes fun songs and games for the primary grades but also includes fun kid appropriate dancing music for all ages! Happy dancing! Let's try to keep up our spirits through some good old fashion (silly) dancing!
