4th, and 5th graders are learning how to play the recorder this year. Playing the recorder is a great way to develop skills like reading, fingering notes, embouchure development (a fancy way to say how to shape your lips around the mouthpiece), and breathing.

All of the recorder music that the students learn is available on this website.  Just click the students' grade and then a list of music pdf's will show up.

Students can buy their own recorder through the school for $5.00. They may take it home with them to practice but must remember to bring it back to school on their music day.  I tell the students to have their recorder to "live" in their back pack.
